Flower Power: Adventures At Horrocks!

June 17th, 2013

This past weekend I went out with Tiffany and Julia to do some pictures at Horrocks, a local organic market and floralstore. We went out and took some pictures in the multiple aisles of flowers, even with a little sprinkling of rain here and there, it made for a pleasant day!

Tiffany’s Outfit:

  • Dress: Brandy Melville
  • Kimono: Buckle
  • Shoes: Doc Martens

We may have been looking like we were stocking up on flowers in the photos, but in reality we just looked like freaks posing for pictures with flowers. Julia should be in a Martha Stewart Mag!

Tiffany and I go to different schools so when we get the opportunity to hang out we definitely take advantage, and converse about fashion and the internet. 😉

After much time spent in the store, and the skies cleared, we walked around a bit and to 7/11 where we got a few pics.

My Outfit:

It was nice to spend some time in a simple place and get so much enjoyment out of it. It inspires me to get out to more local stores to tour and play around in this Summer. It was also nice to do something relaxing with all the hustle and bustle of Annmarie’s wedding coming up, 5 MORE DAYS! It is crazy how different our lives will be after this weekend! I hope you are enjoying your Summers readers! xxoo

PACSUN: Spring 2013 LookBook

May 7th, 2013

If you read my post on the H&M magazine, you would know that I love going through free handouts from clothing stores etc. and getting inspiration. Since then, I have been keeping my eyes peeled for things like it, and then I came across the PacSun Spring 2013 LookBook!

While most of this LookBook was style inspiration for the Summer, I loved how the photos were taken, along with the simplistic design for text and what not.

This document, yet again made me even more envious for those who reside in California.

I have been building an archive of pieces like this so I can look back on these for inspiration. I can’t wait to see it grow. I am already pleased with what I have so far. Enjoy your day readers, and keep your eyes peeled for your own pieces of inspiration!

LookBook- Telephone

April 29th, 2013

When my grandma was moving homes, there was a lot of sorting, and going through old things. Whilst rummaging through old Polaroids, notebooks etc, I came across this phone. This phone was already familiar to me. I remember my cousins, and I making fake phone calls from the upstairs bedroom due to whatever make-believe game we were playing that day. A little nostalgia behind it, and the fact it was super cool led me to ask my grandma for it, and of course she said go ahead! Makes a great decoration in my office, and maybe for a photo shoot or two 😉

I wore this outfit to a carnival, although I ended up replacing the cardigan with a Chicago White Sox hoodie, it was a bit chilly, but things are beginning to warm up for Michigan. Especially the fact we have had random spurts of snow, this tank-top weather has been perfect!

  1. Stud earrings- Forever 21
  2. Necklace- Some stand in the mall from a long time ago.
  3. Round Sunglasses- Amazon
  4. Cardigan- Chaps
  5. Tank Top- Rue 21

Hope the weather is just as pleasant in your neck of the woods, enjoy your week readers!

March Favorites 2013

March 27th, 2013

Anna Dorfman of Door Sixteen has definitely caught my eye this past month. A very chic book designer, blogs about much about style, and design, especially the renovation of her Victorian home in Newburgh, New York. I definitely find much inspiration from her choice of design, whether its furniture, wall color or decor. She is worth while checking out!

I have been really into wearing blacks recently. I really don’t have a justification other then that I look pretty bad ass in wearing it. I got the sunglasses in the picture above online a few weeks ago and I am in love. I know I will get much wear of these through Summer.

Just listen and enjoy. Love this movie.

While I know that this is a short post, I have just finished two weeks of night rehearsals and show week for the last show I was in. Look forward for more regular posts to come! Enjoy the rest of your week readers!

The Slowly Growing Shoe Addiction. A Wishlist.

February 17, 2013

It had occurred to me over this past weekend that I have never searched for shoes for my past shopping trips. This doesn’t mean I barely have any shoes, but I always just thought having a neutral colored pair of Toms was fine for any outfit. I am slowly realizing, not so much that it’s not possible, but more the fact that I have a craving for more shoes. The fact that Toms may not be the most appropriate for walking through Michigan blizzard like conditions, and that red converse don’t go with much. Of course I still like these easy shoes to put with an outfit and will probably be in most of my outfits when Summer hits but I have a growing wish-list in my head for more shoes.

To start off this wishlist, I looked through multiples of clothes featured on H&M’s website. It’s frustrating when the nearest H&M from Grand Rapids is Chicago or Detroit. Either way, I take much time looking through if I know I am travelling soon so I know what to pick up on my next trip.

I have recently been spending lots of time looking through the collection of shoes featured on shoestruck.com and love their unique styles. I especially fell in love with the cloud patterned sneakers to the right.

While this is not a complete list, it expresses my latest shopping craving. It also inspires me to mix up my outfits whilst incorporating more of my shoes. Now if I actually could obtain the money to buy these shoes… damn saving. Anyways I hope you all have a fabulous week readers, I am off on break so I know I will! 😉

California Dreamin’

February  2nd, 2013

Well today, my inspiration has been my longing for the West coast, and definitely not Michigan’s. This outfit, probably is not appropriate for the weather but these temperatures haven’t been calling my name outdoors much either. I like Michigan for the most part, even though my dramatic tweets probably make it seem otherwise. The Summers are so much more enjoyable than the Winters. I like Winter, but the weather that comes with it makes getting around quite difficult, especially when you don’t live in as dense of an area as other towns.

This Outfit:________________________

  1. Grey Beanie from H&M
  2. Denim Button-Up from H&M
  3. DIY Tie-Dye T Shirt
  4. Anchor Necklace from a small shop in Northern Michigan
  5. Khaki Pants from Rue 21

The problem most Michiganders, and I have is that half way through Winter, we get tired of wearing clothes to keep warm, so we push our boundaries as temperatures rise minimally. I seek any opportunity to wear tank-tops, sunglasses, shorts etc at this point of the Winter.

With that inspiration I leave you with some Mamas and the Papas. The song perfectly explains my mood and has resulted in being played on repeat this whole weekend. Have a wonderful weekend readers!
